Maple Bourbon Apple Cider

December 6, 2017

I’m the type of girl that likes her whiskey straight up. Don’t give me a vodka cran or a cosmo, I’ll take a bourbon on the rocks. So needless to say, it surprised me that I liked this drink so much. I wanted to make a drink that would not only taste yummy, but warm ya up on these chilly fall nights. I’ve been sipping this warm maple bourbon apple cider since the first day of fall and I swear it gets better every time I make it.

Maple Bourbon Apple Cider Recipe

Ingredients:

For the maple syrup

  • 1 tablespoon dark maple syrup
  • 8 ounces fresh apple cider not spiced
  • 3 tablespoons bourbon

For the whipped cream

  • 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or maple syrup

Instructions:

-Heat the maple syrup and apple cider together in a microwave safe mug or in a small saucepan until steam rises from the top.

-Add the bourbon to a mug. Pour the hot cider over the bourbon.

-For the whipped cream, place bowl and whisk in freezer for at least 20 minutes to chill.

-Whisk together sugar and heavy whipping cream on high speed until medium to stiff peaks form, about 1 minute.

-Top cider with fresh whipped cream and sprinkle nutmeg on top. Serve immediately.

I hope you guys enjoy this maple bourbon apple cider as much as I do! If you’re not into bourbon as much, check out my tasty Christmas Sangria recipe!
