It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since we headed to the hospital and spent 24 hours in labor to meet baby boy the morning of September 21st. What a wild year it has been. We survived the fourth trimester, have lived through a pandemic and so much more. He hasn’t had the first year we expected but it definitely has been one to remember. Because of the pandemic, we decided not to have a party or anything for Ford’s first birthday. We just celebrated as a family of 3 and it was perfect. He had his first sprinkled donut and couldn’t get enough, just like his mama! We spent the day playing with his new toys and balloons and going for a long walk outside. And we also enjoyed lots of cuddles with my big boy!
This year has taught me a lot about myself and about others. It’s taught me most of all to be patient. Things aren’t always going to go your way or be easy, but if you’re patient with yourself and others, they become a lot easier.
Ford’s First Birthday was definitely a success in my book and it’s safe to say we will always remember the 21st night of September!
