I had seriously mixed emotions about my baby’s first solids. I know at first it’s just for fun but, man did I feel like Ford was growing up too fast when we started feeding him things other than the bottle.
To be honest, I thought I’d be the type of mom that just bought premade baby food from the store. To my surprise though I have been loving making his food from scratch. My grandma gave us the Baby Cooker for our baby shower though and I am kind of obsessed with it. It reminds me of my easy bake oven days for some reason and when I use it, it feels like I’m playing and not doing chores haha! I also am just having fun making all these foods to introduce to Ford.
It’s a whole new world of experiences and it’s setting him up for a lifetime relationship with food. I love to see his little facial expressions as he tries new things. He has definitely surprised me with how good of an eater he is so far! Our doctor said to start with oatmeal cereal and veggies first so that’s what we’ve been doing. His least favorite so far was green beans and his favorite is butternut squash. We have a few more veggies to try before moving onto fruits but something tells me he’s going to like those a heck of a lot more.
I hope you guys enjoy feeding your babes as much as I do. Shop some of my kitchen must-haves for feeding your baby below
