3 ways to turn your dreams into reality

I am a huge dreamer, which is not very common for my fellow Virgos. But while I spend a large portion of my day thinking about all of the things I want to accomplish, I am also planning out and visualizing how I’m going to accomplish them. I spend a bigger portion of my day taking steps to bring those dreams to life. I truly believe in the power of visualization, for anyone, when it comes to making your dreams a reality. Did you know that you’re more likely to remember something once you’ve written it down? Taking the time to imagine a future moment in detail works about the same. Check out these 3 ways to turn your dreams into reality:

1. Vision Board

Vision boarding is so much fun, and while it’s similar to creating a board on Pinterest, it’s a different process in a lot of ways. First off, you’re choosing pieces for your board from a limited supply of magazines or books. You have to work with what’s right in front of you, similar to real life. This collage building process is really therapeutic and allows your mind to be it’s most creative. You’ll end up with your very own piece of art that inspires you every time you look at it and it will help you achieve your dreams a lot faster.

2. Pinterest

Pinterest is also a great tool for building vision around your dream. It might be an organized house, a business goal, or a dream vacation — whatever it is, start a board dedicated to your idea and get pinning. Inspirational quotes, images that inspire you, anything that speaks to your dream. As you add to your board, you’ll be sending powerful messages into the universe about your future. This is one of my favorite things to do, just be sure you don’t spend more time pinning than going out and actually achieving your goals because it can be a bit addicting 😉

3. Meditate

Quieting your mind and focusing deeply on one idea or dream for a select amount of time can help unlock your most productive self. It’s easy, just set aside 5 to 10 minutes once a week. Close your eyes and try and picture yourself in the future you want. Allow yourself to start feeling the emotions you’ll have once you achieve your dream. Congratulations, it’s already happening! If you’re worried that there isn’t enough time in the day try it at night before bed or right when you wake up in the morning. I try to do this at night while I practice expressing gratitude.

What’s one dream you are hoping to achieve? I hope you turn it into reality!

Great ideas! I love Pinterest but I have to admit that sometimes I look up and an hour has gone by and I’m still surfing and pinning.

Love these ideas. I’m a visual person too. I can say it a million times but once I wrote it down, it never goes away!

One of my dreams is to be a published author. I’ve used Pinterest and a Vision board to help me write my book series.

Thanks for sharing this! I love meditating, it certainly helps to stay more present, which in turn will make you more productive. I also love your vision board idea. Sounds like the perfect motivator. Will have to look into that (:

My dream would be to work from home and make enough to pay off all debt and bills comfortably. I tried for quite awhile but it’s too sporadic in terms of pay, so I went back to work FT. Not a fail, just a different path. 🙂

I also believe in writing things down to better visualize them. Pinterest is a great tool for planning. I always keep a list of places I want to travel or updates to the house I want to make.

Hi, I’m Kelly!

When I became a mom I completely lost myself. I was exhausted and anxious and knew that I could be more than just a tired mama. Now I've built a life I'm proud of as a stay at home mom. I want to show tired mamas that you don't have to choose between yourself and your kids. You can build a life you're proud of too!
