Wine Wednesday Wine Wednesday Wine Wednesday Wine Wednesday

Happy Wine Wednesday people! I’m a big wine drinker. When I finish a hard day of work sometimes all I crave is to pour myself a big ol’ glass of red vino. It somehow makes all of my problems go away! And there is especially nothing better than flipping on some Netflix, sitting by the fire and drinkin a glass of vino during the fall season.

I don’t drink a lot of white wine, pinot noir and red blends are always at the top of my list. I’m by no means a wine snob. And if you ever go to a tasting with me I can almost guarantee I’ll be guessing there are hints of pepper when everyone else is tasting strong fruit flavors. But I’ve compiled a list of my favorite wines I’m drinking this fall with little descriptions (from someone other than the pepper taster). Try em out and let me know what you think!

Francis Coppola Directors Cut Pinot Noir

“The 2015 Pinot Noir offers a tremendous depth of character, including good weight and a velvety palate along with strudy but supple tanins. This vintage is incredibly spice driven. A dazzling perfume of blackberries, willd strawberries, cardamom, anise, and toasted wood is followed by juicy flavors of plums, cherry pie, and vanilla bean.”

Etude Pinot Noir

“A vibrant red ruby color, this 2016 Carneros Pinot Noir shows lifted red berry fruit flavors and aromas of fresh strawberry, Bing cherry, and raspberry, along with the signature cinnamon graham cracker spice found in our Grace Benoist Ranch Pinots Noirs.”

Prisoner

“It’s the blend that started it all and challenged how wine should be made. Enticing aromas of Bing cherry, dark chocolate, clove, and roasted fig challenge expectation. Persistent flavors of ripe raspberry, boysenberry, pomegranate, and vanilla linger for a smooth finish.”

I’m sensing a theme here…I think I like berries and vanilla.

La Crema Pinot Noir 2015

“Aromas of red cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, and sweet tobacco. Multi-layered flavors of red, blue and blackberry fruit, plums, cherries and a hint of blood orange underpin subtle layers of exotic spice and toast. Fine tannins and balanced acidity drive a long finish. With notes of bold red fruits, this Pinot Noir pairs nicely with bacon-wrapped stuffed dates, and light and airy chocolate mousse.”

Uhm any excuse to have airy chocolate mousse, yes please.

What’s your favorite wine? I’m up for trying new ones…so long as they don’t taste like pepper! Enjoy your Wine Wednesday and Halloween, my friends!

I’m all about moscato or any sweet wine. And I can only take red wine with my steak 🙂
