Morning Coffee with Keke
I decided to start a new addition on the blog and you guys can let me know what you think. I want Donuts and Daisies to be more than just recipes and pretty pictures. I want this to be a place for us to get to know each other and help each other grow!
I’m going to start a weekly post on Fridays called Morning Coffee with Keke. Keke is my nickname by the way so you know if I’m letting you call me that we be real close lol. Anyways it’ll just be a place where I answer all of your questions… and I mean ALL of your questions. Nothing is off limits people! I think it’ll be a fun way for you guys to get to know me better and heck maybe we’ll even learn something!
I go to bed dreaming about coffee. I can’t wait to get out of bed so I can have my coffee. I get up every morning around 6:30 a.m. and I like to take that time to sit on my patio, drink my coffee by myself, and just start my day off on the right foot. So what better time to share with you guys than my morning coffee!
Here are a couple things below that I’ve gotten a few questions about.
How do you edit your photos and what camera do you use?
I use a Canon 5D mark iii, I’ve had it since college and I have been in love with it the entire time. What I didn’t learn about until later from my favorite photographer friend Torrey Fox was how important the lens is. There are two that I switch off between, I tagged them below.
Editing is the fun part! I used to be so afraid of it but now that I have gotten the hang of it I feel more confident playing around with new styles and colors. I only use Lightroom to edit my photos and I love using different presets. Some of my favorites are Jenna Kutcher’s and VSCO.
These particular photos were taken by Kimi Domino.
What’s your favorite Donut Shop in LA?
This is a tough one because nothing will ever compare to my favorite donut shop in the Bay Area. I can be pretty picky about where I eat my donuts, but I have compiled a short list of a few of my favorites in LA though. You can always check out my list the 7 Best Donut Shops in CA for some good ones too!
Sidecar is a new favorite of mine. I wasn’t a fan at first. I felt like it was trendy and not a super traditional donut place. However, after trying their Huckleberry donut I did a full 180 and now I can’t get enough!
DK’s is also one of my go-tos. You can always count on them to do the classic donuts well. My favorites from them are glazed and chocolate old fashioned.
There are still lots more donut places I haven’t tried yet so I’ll keep you posted on new favorites to come 🙂
